Prevention is a Choice!
What's the Best way to Give Up Smoking Cigarettes?
We know that sometimes the decision to give up isn't easy, but you can. Once you have decided to quit, your chances of success depend on your ability to overcome not only the physical addiction to nicotine, and the psychological need to smoke, but you also need to overcome all the habits that surround the act of smoking - social triggers like, drinking with your mates, talking on the phone etc.
The regular practice of Vedic Meditation develops inner peace, contentment and a balanced state of mind. As a result, cravings for drugs, cigarettes and alcohol naturally disappear. People find that they stop smoking spontaneously, without effort. Some stop smoking even though it was not something that they had set out to do - it just happens.
Let's be honest, stopping is not easy, if it was you wouldn't be reading this, however, thousands of New Zealanders are quitting every week. So the best way to stop is to 'want to stop', then do a little home work, find out which method will work for you and your lifestyle. Ask your friends and family for help and advice, then just do it.
You can quit smoking any time that " YOU" want to! You can quit the habit, no matter how many times you have tried before or how long you have been smoking. But, you have to want to do it!
Which is the best? The answer is, no one. You have to decide to quit, then you can look for the technique that suits your lifestyle - what worked for your friend may not work for you. Even be prepared to try one you have tried before, it may work this time, because you want it to.
You are certainly not restricted by choice:
Nicotine gum, patches & sprays,
Quitting courses, Cold Turkey, Hypnotherapy,
Counseling, Acupuncture, Homeopathic Treatments, Herbal Remedies, Relaxation Techniques, Yoga, to name but a few.
Or you could learn Vedic Meditation, and quit spontaneously, whilst you also begin to enjoy all the other health benefits at the same time. As results may vary from person to person, talk to a teacher of Vedic Mediation and find out how this type of meditation could help you.
